Recently I spent a great deal of time recording content for a CCIE Wireless Written Video On Demand series for IPexpert. I took the Cisco CCIE Wireless blueprint v1.0 and fleshed it out into a series of power-points and accompanying audio information to provide the backbone of information for passing the CCIE Wireless written exam. The total running time is just over 11 hours - and in the course of the content, I explain my rules of thumb and best practices for basically everything I do as a wireless engineer. I wanted this content to stand on its own as a reference source for a wireless engineer, and not just a series of videos strictly to help you pass the CCIE Wireless written exam. I feel this is especially important because of the ongoing changes Cisco will always be making to the CCIE Wireless blueprint for both the written and the lab exams.
I hope that the content ends up being deemed useful by the wireless community at large. I put lots of time into it, and tried to make sure it wasn't dreadfully boring or just me reading the text on the power point slides. Samples of the content are available on the IPexpert website if you're interested. I look forward to any and all feedback!
Isn't the CCIE changing to V2 soon?

The v2 for the written and the lab starts in November. I knew the change was coming when I made the VoD for IPexpert so I incorporated more than just the information from the written blueprint. :)
ReplyDeleteOn their website they note that there will be a free upgrade to the v2 docs when they come out... are you the person that is going to be working on that?
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of pre-knowledge would you recommend?
ReplyDeleteI'd recommend knowing about the ports LWAPP and CAPWAP use for communication, the basics of best practice configurations for 7921 and 7925 phones, etc. There is a good blueprint document for the v2 lab: https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/docs/DOC-11620
ReplyDeleteThis version is much more thorough and detailed than the v1 written blueprint was.
FranMan - I don't see that for the Video on Demand series, but yes I am working with IPexpert to develop a timeline to refresh the VoD to cover topics in the v2 written blueprint.
ReplyDeleteHey Jennifer, does the present VOD from IPExpert, cover all the v2 blueprint topics?
ReplyDeleteVikram,
ReplyDeleteThe current VOD from IPexpert does not cover the v2 blueprint. I'm currently working on updating the VOD to the new blueprint.
Thanks for the update Jennifer. I would wait for it. I have done 2 wireless projects till now and I'm finding it pretty interesting. I'm looking forward for this VOD . I'm sure it would help in the upcoming wireless projects.
